The schedule of field trips, including the annual fall bird count is currently available on this web-site.
The program for August features Bill Schmoker and his 5 week long arctic pelagic trip. Please note that the program will be Monday, August 22, which is the 4th Monday of the month, not the LAST as is the usual case. Join Bill for a talk about his experiences (birding and otherwise) aboard an icebreaker last summer in the Arctic Ocean.
Reesa Yale Conrey of the RMBO will be featured in our September program. Reesa will discuss her research on how variation in climate and land use influence the ecology of mountain plovers, burrowing owls, and passerines of the short-grass prairie, as well as conservation efforts targeting these species. Reesa’s objective with RMBO is to provide science-based recommendations about tillage, herbicides, and population goals for mountain plovers on private lands within the context of changing climate and differing responses of other shortgrass prairie birds
